There have been a bunch of Eastern Bluebirds here in recent days. They are vivid blue, orange and ivory-white songbirds. We have several acres with a very large cattle pasture right across the pond. The cattle attract a number of insects so having active insect-eating birds, such as the Eastern Bluebirds, around is great! I took these pictures in my yard on Jan. 12, 2013 and again on Jan. 13, 2013. Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture. Enjoy!

Hi Linda, Beautiful shots of the Bluebirds… I just refilled all of our feeders in anticipation of the snow we are ‘supposed’???? to get… Can’t believe that they cancelled school today LONG before any bad weather gets here…. Duh!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
I did not think they stay around in winter!
They are such a pretty blue, lovely shots of my favorite bird! Have a great evening and a happy weekend!
Very pretty! Well, we don’t have your bluebirds this time of year, but we do have plenty of your Downey Woodpeckers in their place!
