Bluebirds, a Red-shouldered Hawk, a few House Finches, and a brilliant red male Northern Cardinal all were perched on various tree branches when I snapped these pictures. I took these pictures on different days in the last several weeks. All of these birds have been year around residents here. I am surprised that we still have such a variety of birds here in spite of our oh-so-cold weather this Winter. By the way, it snowed last night and again a bit this morning. Got snow???? We have about an inch or two here…. First snow of any significance this season.. I took a few photos which I will share sometime.
The birds are going crazy at the feeders today –since it was 10 degrees out there when I put out the bird food this morning. Poor babies.
Great photos, Linda.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Betsy, Yes, it snowed a bit last night and this AM but not too much. We still have a little on the ground here. Interesting to see blowing and a little falling snow in sunshine. It is about 26 degrees out now at 1:00 PM here. I agree about the feeder. Have a super nice day and stay warm. It may snow again tomorrow.
What a great capture of the hawk!!
Hi Ginny, Many thanks! Have a great weekend.
I could pick out a bluebird from far away, great shot! And the Hawk is awesome too. we had a dusting of snow this morning! It is mostly gone now. Have a happy weekend!
Hi Eileen, Wonderful and many thanks! Have a super good weekend!
The bluebird looks very perky despite the cold!
Hi Montucky, I think it was just that really rich sunlight streaming at that tree. I was kinda surprised at the vivid color it turned out to have. Have a great weekend!
