Just another WordPress.com weblog about Nature and Wildlife

Grey Squirrels get hungry for “Fast food” just like we people sometimes do!  I was quick to grab my camera when my husband pointed out the window of our basement at the Squirrel that was draped over the bird feeder head down and the long claws of both rear paws just clinging to the top.  The roof of the feeder has just enough slope to it and has ridges that helped the Squirrel stretch, lean and balance without a fall.  The bandit grabbed quickly with one fore-paw, and hung there munching with the other.  At times, the Squirrel just stuck its head into the opening of the feeder and ate right from it.  Fun pictures!  I took these through the window so they’re not the clearest.  Please click on the thumbnail version to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!

  1. I’ve had a squirrel BREAK one of those exact feeders before. I do everything in my power to keep the squirrels from getting to the bird feeders –but sometimes they WIN. ha
