Canada Geese in the Yards

The Canada Geese were up here in the yards yesterday (Aug. 9, 2012).  The Canada Geese just seemed to be everywhere.  They were under the bird feeder just at the front porch, they were in the back yard up against the house, they were in the back pasture and in the side pasture, and of course, in the pond.  I counted thirty-nine geese here at the same time!

The geese usually stay in the cow pasture across the pond, but they must have wanted to explore the greenery over here today.  They even called some of their friends to join the party!  The geese love eating fresh tender grass.  There is new grass around because we have been having a lot of rain in recent days.  The land is greening up!   Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!

    • Hi Theresa, We had about half as many here this morning very early but they have moved on already. Likely over on the lake or maybe just over on the other shore of the pond. Have a wonderful day!

  3. It’s interesting to see so many now. They all seem to have left this area already.

    • Hi Montucky, I have decided just to nicely go about my daily activities here – I try not to scare the geese but since I need to do my own regular chores and enjoy the outdoors, the geese just need to move on to other parts of this property. Gee there are a lot of them here at times! Maybe some came from out West? Ha! : )
      Have a great Saturday tomorrow!

  4. Wonderful series on the Canada Geese. There does not seem to be a shortage of them. Beautiful shots.
