Just another WordPress.com weblog about Nature and Wildlife

The resident Great Blue Heron, “Hank”,  was standing on the dam of the pond last evening at about 6:00pm.  I was out taking pictures of the big bird and it was pretty calm.  It finally had enough of me and flew to the other shore.  The heron then strolled around the cow pasture about ten yards from the water.  Seeing that I was still around, it casually walked into the reeds and rushes to hide.  I took the hint and left.  I am sure the heron will have a successful fishing venture and will enjoy the resulting fish or frog dinner.  I am really happy to have the heron here almost every day now.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!
