A flock of Eastern Bluebirds has been here the past few days. I have been seeing upwards of a dozen of the beautiful blue orange and ivory-colored songbirds. They have been out hunting for insects and grubs in the grassy pastures, in the Oaks, and around the pond. Our weather had been cold but we have had a brief warm-up for the past two days. Our temperature is around 68 degrees F. which is almost record warmth for our area at this time of the year. The Bluebirds are enjoying the warmer weather. I hope that the birds and plants won’t believe it is already Spring. Along with the Bluebirds, there also have been several beautiful House Finches (reddish-brown colored birds) I took these pictures on Jan. 10, 2013 in my yard.
