The small flock of Eastern Bluebirds has been quite active here in the last two weeks. I am seeing about ten Bluebirds but this can vary from day-to-day. The Bluebirds eat insects. The weather had been warm for a few days and now is much colder. We had a lot of rain here so the grass has grown and many more insects are around. The Bluebirds must be very happy to find all these insects. They like to sit on the old wood rail fence while a few of the flock hunts in the grass for grubs and insects. I also see the blue orange and ivory birds up in the Oak trees near the pond. I took these pictures in my yard on Jan. 18, 2013. Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture. Enjoy!
