Juvenile Little Blue Heron in White Phase?

Egrets and Herons are the birds of the day.  I took these pictures of a Great Egret, Snowy Egret and surprisingly, what is likely an immature Little Blue Heron in the white color phase.  I am not sure if the bird is really a heron but that is my best guess.  Immature Little Blue Herons, and even some Great Blue Herons, can be white for a time.  The surprising thing, is that sometimes, these immature Little White Herons in their white phase, do mingle with the Snowy Egrets!

Egrets and Herons mostly hunt in areas around fresh or brackish water. They eat frogs, crawfish, turtles, fish, waterfowl eggs and larger insects.  I took the pictures at two ponds here in the development area at about 5:30PM yesterday (Aug. 27, 2013).  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture,  Enjoy!
