I took these pictures in and near my neighborhood in the last several days. I have enjoyed seeing a Lesser Yellowlegs shorebird, a pair of Hooded Mergansers, NorthernMockingbirds, and a few Eastern Bluebirds. It has been cooler and rainy here in Marion County, Florida this week so opportunities for bird watching have been limited. Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture. Enjoy!

our bluebirds have been singing up a storm, here. LOVE the hoodies!
Hi Theresa, The Hooded Mergansers had been on that rainfall retention pond basin for two days when I took that picture on Monday afternoon. It has rained since so the basins do have some water in them. Problem is that there only are insects for the ducks to chow down on at this point. Later in Spring, frogs will be around. These ponds do not hold fish. Have a super good weekend and thanks for your comments!
Lovely variety of birds! I love the bluebirds. I am missing the pair in my yard. Have a happy weekend!
Hi Eileen, Our neighbor behind our home has a Bluebird house where this pair nests. I know you will be thrilled when the weather warms up and your bluebirds return. Have a great weekend!
