Buff Orpington Ducks

DSC_2190

These cuties are Buff Orpington domestic farm ducks.  I took these pictures while briefly camping at a KOA RV Park in Forsyth, Georgia earlier this month.  These are really sweet ducks!  If I am not incorrect, this breed originated in Great Britain and was imported here to the U.S.A. many years ago.

I guess so many visitors are around the pond at this campground that the ducks expect a handout from humans approaching the water’s edge.  No such luck from me.  There also were several families of Canada Geese at this small pond.  I think it is fun to see different breeds of ducks, even if the ducks shown here,  are domestic and not wild.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!

  1. how cute! they’re like a mallard that faded out. 🙂

    • Hi Theresa, You are really one the money with that observation. At first, I had thought these ducks to be a Mallard cross. I now know that they are a breed all to themselves. Have a fantastic and safe weekend!

  2. They are good looking ducks. Fairly large too.

  3. They do look different, nice shot of the ducks! Enjoy your new week ahead!
