I spotted these Black Bellied Whistling Ducks at the Tuscawilla Park near downtown Ocala, FL, on three recent days.   These ducks are so very cute with pinkish bills and pink feet.  They have brown and tan bodies with a small amount of black and white.  I was quite thrilled to have seen them.  The Whistlers are migratory Winter visitors.

The Whistlers are dabbling ducks and eat a variety of grains, aquatic plants, insects, worms, and occasional tiny aquatic animals.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!
