Whistlers by the Dozens!

The Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were still paddling, strolling, and flying around at Tuscawilla Park in Ocala, Florida, when I took these pictures on March 20, 2015.  I love these cuties!

“Whistlers”  have such personality, just standing around, they are adorable!  These ducks like their name implies, have a call that is a whistling sound – similar to the Wood Ducks.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!

  1. I just love these cute ducks. Awesome shots… We were at this park on the 24th..It was nice to see the Whistling Ducks on that day too. Have a happy Monday and new week ahead!

    • Hi Eileen, Glad you got to see at least a bit of that crowd – I love the idea that so many different birds come to the park in Winter months. The park is an old old one and is typical of many urban parks. But the wildlife sights are good. By the way, I was at our neighborhood park yesterday and did not see any owls but heard one. I also saw a bunch of Cedar Waxwings (first I had seen here in FL). Have a great day!

  2. They are so cool! I’m glad I can see them through your pictures.

  3. you’re right. simply standing there, they ooze character, quirkiness and cuteness!
