Hello, it’s been awhile since I’ve been here. As usual, you are seeing some nice birds. But the bird on the wreath is likely a House Finch. The bill is finch and Carolina Wrens make nests in cavities of some variety. They will even use old purses and such. 🙂

    • Hi Birding Bunch, Many thanks for the sharp-eyed help! I appreciate it. You know your birds. I will make the edit. It was such a neat thing to see the tiny bird trying to make itself at home in a artificially built nest on a decorative wreath mounted on a storm door on a neighboring home here. Have a really fine day!

  2. the carolina wrens use the darnedest spots. 🙂

  3. You are indeed in the bird headquarters!

    • Hi Montucky, I was totally blown away by the sheer numbers of birds here all year. I have to just be in the right spot – sometimes yes, right on my street, but other times, I have to be out in the wilderness areas to find those birds. Have a wonderful Thursday tomorrow!

  4. Wonder if the wren thought, “Gee it’s windy,” when the door gets opened.
