Just another WordPress.com weblog about Nature and Wildlife

Here are a few more photographs of the Wood Storks that were visiting my area last Summer.  I took these pictures at a little park lake near Spanish Springs Square, in The Villages, Florida.  I just love seeing Wood Storks!

I am not seeing many of these unusual big wading birds around these days as most of the Wood Storks have left for other places.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the slightly larger picture.  Enjoy!

  1. nice shots of your summer friends!

  2. Those would be nice to see. They are huge birds! Our array of birds has reduced to the few species that winter here plus a few that are still migrating.

    • Hi Montucky, Yes, they are really large birds but they seem to be peaceful and intelligent. I’ll bet your birds are winging toward AZ NM and points South but some could be our guests. I saw a few new birds in my big oaks today here at home. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!

  3. Hello, awesome shots and sightings of the Wood Storks! They are one of my favorite Florida birds! Enjoy your day!
