More Whistling Ducks

DSC_2235

Black-bellied Whistling Ducks or Whistlers, have been here for many months now.  They are enjoying the quiet waters of the little park lake here in my neighborhood.  I am so glad to see them up close.  They are quite pretty and fun to watch.  There are a number of youngsters among the flocks here.  They get along well with the other kinds of ducks such as Mallards, Florida Mottled Ducks, Lesser Scaup Ducks, Hooded Merganser Ducks, and the few Buffleheads and Ring-necked Ducks around.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy!

  1. Another blog friend used to post Whistlers every Wednesday. She lives in Texas… They are so gorgeous… Bet they love that Florida climate and that lake….

Cold here —but not snow (after our tiny bit a few days ago).

    Hugs,
    Betsy

    • Hi Betsy, Yes, Tex is one of my blog pals. I am not trying to steal her thunder at all – just sharing the whistler love. Ha! Kidding of course. I did see your weather is colder now. It is also cooler than I’d like it to be here. I did some archery practice in about 49 degree weather this AM. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy your gorgeous yards and the deer on the course.

  2. Hello, I am always happy to see the Whistling Ducks. They are my favorite duck and so darn cute. They face expression is almost funny. Great series of photos. Enjoy your day and the week ahead!

  3. sharing the whistler love, indeed! 🙂 you keep posting them as often as you want – wednesdays or any day! 🙂

  4. They must be very social ducks. They appear to be standing around talking a lot.
