Bluebird, House Finches

Bluebird, House Finches

Songbirds such as Eastern Bluebirds, and House Finches enjoy the refreshing cool waters of the bird bath.  One of my neighbors has a bird bath next to the really nice bird feeding station that they have set up.  I know the little birds are enjoying the cool water and refreshments quite a lot.  It was 93 degrees F. here yesterday.

A small group of young Morning Doves like the tasty bird seeds that fall from the tray feeder (I also have spotted one of the doves up on the tray feeder itself).   I enjoyed watching the birds’ splash party!  It is such a nice thing for homeowners to include food and water for the songbirds in their front or backyard landscape!  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the slightly larger picture.

  1. Hello, it is fun watching the birds bathing. I love the sweet bluebirds, but they are all cute. Great shots! Enjoy your day!

    • Hi Eileen, I have had a great deal of fun watching the birds here at home. My husband is recovering from an outpatient surgery so I have been at home for a week now. Yes, I especially am happy to see Eastern Bluebirds around. Saw a tiny Carolina Wren in my yard this AM, too. Have a great evening tonight and a fine day tomorrow!

  2. That’s a nice bird bath. In my yard I have a large tub of water with a built-up section on one side where the birds can bathe and all kind of animals can drink. Often it is much more used than the feeders.

    • Hi Montucky, So nice of you to be so hospitable to your birds and critters. A good thing for animals and birds in the heat of late Spring and Summer. Have a wonderful afternoon and evening and a great day tomorrow, too!

  3. i like when the blues gather for bath time. 🙂
