We had a large storm here last week and many new birds have shown up in our location in recent days. I spotted the Wood Storks at our local park lake near Boone Park, and also at Lake Mira Mar, here in the Villages, FL.
Wood Storks are such wonderful big birds. The Wood Storks feed by wading in shallow water and scooping through the mud to find snails, worms, aquatic insects and frogs to eat. These white and black birds will often fly many miles from their nests to find food. I am so glad whenever I spot Wood Storks here.
