Just another WordPress.com weblog about Nature and Wildlife

This  young alligator was seen in The Villages, FL at a golf course pond.  Alligators are common in Florida in fresh water marshes, ponds, and lakes.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the slightly larger version of the picture.  Enjoy!

  1. That’s cool! I would love seeing them.

  2. Oh, gosh! Patiently waiting for prey. Would tell children to keep out of the way there.

    • Hi Ellington, Yes, the area is pretty far from where kids would be but we do watch out for alligators here. I especially watch were I walk when on the shoreline of our many ponds. It currently is mating season so gators are active – and even more so at twilight and evening. Thanks for your nice comments!
