Memorial Day

As today is Memorial Day, this brief post is dedicated to the memory of those who died in the service of the country or were seriously wounded.  The families and friends of those servicemen and women suffering casualties, are in my thoughts and prayers.

Happy Memorial Day

In memory of those who have lost their lives in service to the country.  May they rest in peace.  Here are some pictures I have taken in the last couple of weeks of very patriotically-colored birds.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  Enjoy and have a safe and happy day!

A Bald Eagle in Memory of Those Lost

I wanted to have a special post in memory of those service men and women who have shed blood and died for our freedom.  Today is Memorial Day so, these pictures symbolize freedom and the bravery of those in our armed forces.  I took these previously unpublished pictures way back on February 7, 2011 from my deck.  One picture was of the Bald Eagle soaring above the lake and the other picture shows the same Bald Eagle sitting in a large Oak in the yard next door.  This Bald Eagle is one of eight in my area of Cumberland County, TN.  In closing today, I also want to thank those who are presently in the military.  Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture.  I am wishing all a happy Memorial Day!
