Eastern Wood Pewee
This little Eastern Wood Pewee was spotted sitting upright. The bird perched on top of an utility conduit pipe at the side of the road here in the development. I seldom see these cute tiny birds here. This is the second one I have spotted recently. The Eastern Wood Pewee is a fly catching bird.
There is a cattle pasture located across the road from where I saw this bird, so it likely enjoyed a lot of flying insects. I think that this is a migrating bird visiting here for the Winter. I took these pictures at twilight on October 16, 2013. Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture. Enjoy!
