I spotted a Yellow-throated Warbler on January 8, 2014 in my front yard. The tiny bird is a stunning beautiful little warbler. This diminutive songbird is new to the neighborhood. These Yellow-throated Warblers eat a variety of small insects as well as occasional seeds and sometimes, certain fruits. The Yellow-throated Warbler was among a lot of smaller birds such as the Carolina Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, Pine Warblers, Chipping Sparrows, and Yellow-rumped Warblers.
I sure enjoyed seeing this very brightly colored and patterned bird. This warbler had a swirling black and white back and head, a bright yellow throat, charcoal grey sides, and white underparts. This bird was flitting around in a medium-sized Sycamore Tree. I think it is a “Snow bird” here. Please click on the thumbnail image to see the larger picture. Enjoy!
